Sawing Systems' 5RP Router/Polisher is the ideal solution for the counter top shop that has outgrown hand tools but does not want the cost and expertise required for CNC equipment. The 5RP is a versatile machine capable of a variety of tasks. It will drop sink holes; profile the inside of the sink hole; profile the perimeter of the counter top; cut drain boards; grind broad surfaces or edges down to size; and polish edges and broad surfaces.

The machine is equipped with a single powerful spindle mounted on an articulating radial arm with a reach of almost 7 feet. The 359° rotation of the arm about its base allows up to four work stations to be set up simultaneously. Work can be done at one station while others are loaded and unloaded.

The unique floating spindle with its pneumatic counterbalance system provides light pressure for polishing or high pressure for heavy grinding of horizontal surfaces. The machine requires templates to guide the tooling for sink cut outs and some profile tools. Profile tooling that is height-sensitive requires a top edge follower plate to guide the tool along the top of the counter top surface.
